Who knew? The first time I visited Leelanau County, it captivated me. If you’ve ever been UpNorth in Michigan, you get it. There’s a reason this area has been voted one of the most beautiful places on the planet, over and over again, by National Geographic. Then, throw in a speckling of a few Petoskey stones, it’s next level…especially if you’re a designer that can’t wait to explore a new medium. This is exactly what happened to me and I haven’t looked back!

There’s probably not one house UpNorth that doesn’t have their favorite rock(s) displayed somewhere inside their home…polished or not. How can we not admire these beauties? I think there’s also room for these treasures to be functional art. I am beyond excited to launch Mod Fossil and my first Entertainment Collection, with a large focus on Petoskey stones. Each one is uniquely different and a conversation piece. If you haven’t been bitten by the rock hunting bug yet, you surely will when you visit this magical place in Michigan that I am blessed to call home. Cheers!
